Very very eventfull weekend away
Had a superb time away, much needed, stopped 3 times on the way to Vicky farm, rockers were leaking badly but made it there, then from Stamford hall had oil spew on my exhaust and a lot of smoke, tweaked the timing and lots of loud backfiring but cruised at 60 ish all the way home, then Rob was broken down with drive shaft bolts falling out and Poor Tamsin pushing the bus to a lay-bys in her flip flops, got fixed and soon on our way again, all made it home but not sure on Rob or Tamsin yet.? Hope so and home safe now, thanks to all the techies for info there especially my mad mad mate Brian from Basingstoke, awesome time but lots to be getting on with as the engine is needing some extras, thanks to Owen, Carl, Helen, John from Jersey who did the clean sweep in the Trophies, lovely guy and has accepted our forced invitation to descend on Jersey, all who can make it for a break, well done John, Rob and Tamsin.
I will leave it there as I am knackerred

Hey Ron,
So glad you had a tool in the box for those cv bolts. That's one thing I don't pack and it meant the difference between a 3 hour wait/low loader home and a five minute fix in the parking bay. Looks like I need to invest in some loctite. We made it back to bmuff fine and gave the bus a wash after collecting some dust on the way.
As usual a superb weekend with the AK crew. Great to meet some new people on the save scene and watch the agonising process of trying to auction off T5 manuals late on a Sunday night. Great pub quiz though, would've given them a run for their money with some knowledge about Scottish national parks, celebrities on twitter, and generous pizza suppliers
Until next time, maybe in new forest/jersey ?

Re: Very very eventfull weekend away
Well we have all made it back as you can see. We all had a fab time and generally a good trip back. We waved off John Jersey at N'bury....just texted that he is camped up safely ready for the Jersey ferry tomorrow am - he says thanks to all signed JJ!
Just been looking through the photos - fab.
Plus been back through Hessisch / Wolfsberg photos and they looked great too.
Must do a slide show to reminisce.
Will put up photos and stories later as too tired now - but at least we are clean, bus washed and packed away.

Restoration of the Year:

As you may have seen from the Amersfoort video, Owen Mel Carl & I were lucky enough to convoy with Phil D, Brian & John Jersey (John TC on SSVC). We arranged to travel with him to Vicky Farm and as you can see above he swept the board with his stunning 56RHD. The van is georgous all round and the interior really has to be seen to be believed.
A great result.
Here is Johns build thread: well worth a read

It was also nice to see Erna's & Dave's name on the trophy for Archie when we looked at it....that was another fab weekend too.

Nice pics as always Rob. Diidnt take a lot but will try and get them up over the next couple of days. Still recovering from a mega weekend and quite possibly one of the best month's we've ever had since we got the van with Amersfoort and Vicky farm back to back. And great weather for both. What say you mr Owen?

Yep after Hessich didn't think we could top that again but its certainly been a fun month what with Amersfoort, Stanford Hall and meeting up with John Jersey good job we hung back and convoyed 200+ miles with him through Belgium at the time didn't realise what a superb job he has done on it. The weather has been kind to us as well on both counts which certainly helps and must have done about 1000 miles in the last few weeks alone.

Re: Very very eventfull weekend away
And at long last here are our pics from Vicky Farm and the Stanford Hall convoy. I'm sorry but we didn't get any Stanford pics this year. Also, the pics are rather 'JJ heavy' but I promised to take, share and send John a set of pics for his weekend. And as we've said, what a weekend it was for John TC and us all. Enjoy...
