Engine running really bad! Empty Engine running really bad!

Post by Steven Thu May 05 2011, 17:04

hey all wondering if anyone can help?

Driving along in the bug and when I let revs drop and go to accelerate again their just seems to be now power in the bug at all? When I change down a gear it seems fine.

I mainly notice it when under load so like going up a hill!

Just serviced up the bug and it seemed to be all ok!

Only change to the big is the new exhaust, and this seems to be hen most of the problem has come along?

Cheers

Them exausts are crap but michrlles bug has run one on two different engines and not had problems. Check your timing, sounds to me like youve got no ignition advance. Did you do anyhing the guys said on vzi?

When you serviced it what did you change points, tappets, condenser, cap, rotor, plugs etc.

If so you should of adjusted your timing as any of those could affect it especially changing your points.

What dizzy have you on and what carb is it, if you have a 009 and a 34 pic carb you need to time it with a timing gun

All sorted thanks to daz! Was running bad before ao think the timing sorted that but was running really bad over the past couple of days (ie slowing down to like 25 going up a hill on a duel carriage way) due to one of the ht leads not being on properly/ on at all! So only running on 3!

But all is good now!

Thanks for the help
