Fabulous news Dave & Erna - so please for you.

Just say when & we will be there for the fitting - to make tea, mop brows, crawl under the van, and generally keep Liam's almighty strong pop-eye arms under control!

Christmas Present Empty Engine

Post by Erna & David Wed Jan 18 2012, 17:38

Well after a lot of fibs and promises, i rang Hebridies Haulage myself and gave them our name and postcode and was told the engine was at last put on the boat from Stornaway this Monday night gone, so it could be in Bathgate or their midland depot, so should be with us Thursday or Friday, still hav,nt got tracking number from Mr Maher yet and dont expect one after everything.
Keep you updated.

Post by Erna & David Wed Jan 18 2012, 21:18

Well, had a email from Mr Maher with all technical info regards dyno results, fitting of engine, oil recomodations, position of oil filter, priming the oil system etc abit daunting, and to tell us the engine will be minus the silencer(forgot to pack it) Rolling Eyes , a couple of female hose fittings Rolling Eyes , being sent out next week, and also sent tracking number, engine will be in Andover 4 oclock in morning and delieverd tomorrow by Andover Transport.

Its just a shame that Dave and Erna have had to put up with this situation and endure so much over the last year or so, I now think, even though JMRs engines have a great reputation, John Maher himself is inexperienced in dealing with people who have life experience and have heard every excuse under the sun.

I have in the meantime received 2k of my deposit back so far, JMR has being paying me back a grand month and final payment due end of this month.

Will not be dealing with this character in the future ref an engine if i need one.

Hope engine arrives safely guys.

Christmas Present Empty Engine

Post by Erna & David Thu Jan 19 2012, 16:07

Well the engine has arrived and to tell the truth a bit deflated with the look of it, didnt know what to expect but hoped it looked better.
Came with a box of bits and found out there is no air filter elements,(and not fitted) no silencer, oil filter, oil hose fittings, none of the fuel hoses are attached (just a roll), front tinware not fixed because it needs abit of fretting to get the holes lined up, and god knows what else. scratch
Any help to advise us what else is missing or required, much appreciated.

It will soon be in there guys, at least it's arrived guess you need to give him a call about the other bits, otherwise just write a list of whats needed, plan where your going to put everything, take it slow and it will come together.

Guys, i can say i am happy it finally turned up, take 24 hours to digest all whats happened, and then decide on a plan of action.

Late delivery

incomplete engine

Poor customer service

Stress

Missed trips

etc etc etc:shock:

Make him wait for his balance, if pay it at all, I wouldn`t pay him a bean.

If your not busy Sunday Linda and i are out to Lunch out your way and if ok we will pop in to see you all.

At least your 95% nearly ready to be on the road, and that makes me smile for you guys. Be positive, your bus will drive like a dream.Smile

Thats great news glad you finally got it and as Daz says main thing is you have got it now and its whats inside the engine that counts not the bits outside and it will probably go like stink. Things like fuel runs and wiring just need abit of thinking about and down to personal preference so prob best to lay it out as you want it.

At least it's here, will catch up when we are back from Dubai. It's quite chilly out here and it rained in the desert whilst camping.
But the sun is out now!
