Depends how cheap you get it, one of the engines you could take a gamble on I suppose as it doesn't sound like it needs much to get it going, would want to know why he is selling it and who built it really.

No worries didn't have to do that mate . . .

There are plenty of independent engine builders on ebay (i.e Steve Strong) and alikes Ron might be worth sending them a mail see how much they would build a 1776. The engine shop will sell a 1776 or larger in either longblock or turnkey with warranty at decent price too.

OPINIONS ON THIS 1776 ON FLEA BAY PLEASE Empty won the engine

Post by Ronnieboy59 Sat Sep 08 2012, 16:29

I got the engine at what i think is a fair price, built in wales by clifton clarke ? no miles run since re-build, has excellent oil pressure and compressions on each cylinder, all i need now is the manual to teach myself on how to re-build an engine, I have Twin dell 36s to fit on it, ( i new they were worth keeping ) a vintage speed exhaust off my bus, Alternator off my bus, so just need a clutch and elec fuel pump and maybe a few other bits, should i hope be a bargain when all in my bus.
Very Happy Very Happy

If when all in my bus my 1600 sp which is a really good engine will be up for sale minus the parts mentioned above.Very Happy

Ron

Congratulations, keep you busy out of season, didn't look like it needed much from my glance at it never heard of Clifton Clarke, so should be in and running before you know it.

Mind you your old 1600 single port is a cracking torque motors for someone, keep hold of it until you know all is good.
