Engine fitting today
Many thanks to Carl , Owen and the magician with the smaller hands,,Helen, your time was very much appreciated and all the efforts we all made in getting everything fitted for the BIG MOMENT,,,,,3 DIzzies later, 2 sets of HT Leads and all we got was a small cough from the engine, however all appears good with no fuel or oil leaks, good oil pressure, fuel pump works fine , thanks Owen for wiring it in and Helen doing the delicate stuff on the fuse box and Carl, Tommorow is another day and hope it may fire up tomorrow, can't really think what the issue is but I know my dizzy and old leads were spot on from my old engine, maybe a timing issue or the Carbs, anyway not concerned too much at the moment and will have another go in the morning, weather permitting, again many thanks Owen Carl and Helen and Linda for the sausage rolls and chips, coffee and biscuits. glass of wine now and a takeaway and. Rest.

Re: Engine fitting today
Engine started today however did not sound right, took the rocker covers off to reveal that on no 1 the pushrods had come out off the adjuster, decided to remove all pushrods from both sides and there was signs of damage to some pushrods, it appears that some of the pushrods ends have compressed into the pushrods, not sure on the Rocker arm type, think bugpack and not sure if they are 1.25 or 1.4' being a novice at this then any info on this appreciated, pushrods appear to be good quality steel and cut to length, engine has a 120 cam, so far info has been the geometry but this is all new to me so not sure, will changing the rocker arms from these heavy duty ones to stock ones and stock pushrods fit in the engine.? Thanks all for today, DAz, Owen, Carl, Helen, your help is much appreciated, any vw engine builders who can help would be a huge bonus to come have a look please,
Thanks
Ron
