Jersey August Bank Holiday 26th to 31st August 2015 - The extra trip

This is the alternate trip out to Jersey for those who are interested;
We are definately going to Aircooled Offshore (5-7th June 15) and over for a longish weekend for the August bank holiday.

We are going Wednesday 26th and will return late on the 31st but will stay at the Premiere Inn Poole North ovenight and get an early start for work on Tuesday!

Hmmm, I am on call up to the 27th August come off the morning Friday 28th so we wouldn't be able to travel till then.

Daz, Can you talk to Robbie & Kate over Stonor weekend as I remember that they were really keen for Jersey over the bank holiday.

Hi Helen yes think we want to try and go out the Friday and come back later but maybe van less by then as well. Already spoken to Robby they are now not able to make it as they will be up in Scotland.

Have you booked already Carl, Helen will need to look into this next month just for long weekend probably from the 28th .

Ok booked Ferry this morning for the 28ths at the crack of dawn, price has hiked considerably but hey-ho, just need to sort out the camp site Carl cheers

Realised the price hike made a major fubar booked to Guernsey instead of Jersey rung the nice people up and Condor Ferries who sorted it all out for me otherwise could have been a bit embarrassing arriving on the wrong island.

Agreed John, Imagine all that excitement at getting Daz and Lisa to come with us and then having to leave them an hour a way on Guernsey 

They'd have loved that!

Yep only spotted it after I looking at the ferry times phew!

Just need to sort out the camping now . . . Carl so what do I need to do as you said we could probably share a pitch just wouldn't mind getting it all sorted.

Hi I'm going to give the owners at Beauvelands a call tomorrow for you Daz

I know John and Jay are coming up to stay too, so there should be lots of room. The pitches are huge.

If I take a Coleman and sides with me from Wednesday, will you have van and Quetcha or just van and Coleman?

I will come down to the Port to meet you off the ferry on Friday early too

we were at campsite over the weekend  spoke to them about Aug bank holiday so  don't worry about the campsite,  No need to talk to them Carl   we will sort it out when you arrive Daz.

Cheer Carl just the van probably can take the Quetcha if needs be but generally only use it for storing camp gear in but could probably use the Coleman if needs be to save space.

Yes, we'll have all 4 sides for the Coleman with us so we'll be fine. Depending on what John says you and I can easily agree to take one between us and share the 'storage'.

Counting the days now hope it isn't raining in Jersey 

Rain  whats that?

We all had a fantastic and memorable time in Jersey despite nearly not getting there and having to make a very early morning call to Carl, Helen & John but that's another story. Great to drive round the island in Convoy and see all the fascinating sites, Carl & Helen had some great unique experiences and all in all it's been a very humbling experience a big thanks to all involved and your generous hospitality.

Sadly the only downer is that it is probably the last time we will be using the Junkyard before it goes to it's new home its been very good to us but what a fitting last trip.
