Door window seals
Still talking seals… Thought I would start a new thread as a slightly different subject.
I am replacing the scrapers and runners on both passenger and driver's door windows (72 bay), non-opening quarter lights. Can anyone recommend a supplier of decent quality and not horrendously expensive? I'd prefer to spend on quality than save a few quid BUT I'd rather not fork out loads for something that’s practically no difference once fitted anyway.
Machine 7 has a pair of kits (on offer price) for over £150, seems rather steep to me for some bits of rubber… Especially as it looks fiddly to fit! http://www.machine7.com/section.php?xSec=1720
But then compared to VW Heritage one door kit is £350! I presume this includes loads I don’t actually need But they do have a 10% rubber sale on Valentines day! http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Door-seal-kit-W-SWAGE-Fixed-1-4-L-H-68-79_act_shop.product_pID_199261_lang_EN_country_GB.htm?crumbPageToLoad=2
Any advice? any brand to avoid? Any recommended kits?

Re: Door window seals
Try custom and commercial they always seem to do best on price, usually get a choice in quality of most items too . . . they are in Bookham, Surrey.

Re: Door window seals
Hmmmm. I had looked on C&C for seals but couldn't find quite what I was looking for.
They seem to do a full kit (all windows, doors etc not what I'm after) for £600

Or they do a scraper and frame for £40 which do not seem to be quite what I am after either

Think I will take a closer look at my bus in when it's daylight and work out precisely which parts I actually need! Then give C&C a call...

C & C have always been great on the phone with us, just explain exactly what bits you need and I'm sure they will sort you out.

Re: Door window seals
Think you need to be careful i wasted alot of money on door seals when i first got the bus so called orginal ones were too tight a fit, some of the cheaper ones are actually a better fit well at least thats what i found on the split. Owen

Re: Door window seals
Thanks for all the suggestions, I think it's only the scraper and felt 'runners' for the moving windows (nothing for the quarter lights needed). I'm going to Vanshack to get my MOT in a couple of weeks time so will get their advice on what to buy too.
Cheers
