Still tidying up the wiring but all seems to be working. Think it has just been pure luck that the van has ever started (and never caught fire before!) as clearly they wire things differently in Thailand!

How you getting on, did you suss it . . .

Haven't had chance to look at it yet thanks to this lovely summer weather we are having! We have a mate who's a vehicle electrician coming to look at it tonight so will keep you posted.

All sorted. Took him less than half an hour, turned out to be our main battery earth.

Well done hope Keith has calmed down now no more talk of selling up
