For sale 71 Beetle
The time has sadly come to part with my 1971 VW beetle. I have owned the car for 5 years now. I bought the car as a project and spent 3 1/2 years restoring it. The vehicle is taxed exempt.
The vehicle has had the rain channels removed, has had a full bare metal respray in the oringinal colour brilliant orange. I have rebuilt the 1300 engine with new bearings, rings and seals and since the rebuild has only covered around 1,600miles. The engine has no endfloat and runs really well.
The car has had a full new interior including custom seat covers and door cards.
I have thousands of pictures from the build along with a folder full or recipts. I have also spend thousands of pounds in restoring this vehicle.
The vehicle has just had a new MOT with only a couple of minor advisories.
The under side of the vehicle is solid with no rust in the heater channels etc. The vehicle has been fully undersealled.
The specification of the vehicle is as follows:
Body:
Standard right hand drive vehicle, one piece windows fitted to front, all glass apart from windscreen is tinted (no the cheap film, it is laminated in the glass)
The rain channels on roof have been fully removed to give a cleaner look.
Full bare metal respray carried out and painted in original colour Brillant orange.
Cal look window seals have been fitted.
All chrome has been removed and has been powder coated in satin black.
There are a couple of small marks in the paint (see picures) But all the pannels are straight. If you look very closely you may find a stonechip but that is to be expected as it has been driven on the road.
Suspension
Vehicle is lowered on adjustable front beam and 1 spline at the rear.
Wheels
Rear wheels have been banded 2" and painted in satin black and orange, rear tyres have approx 6mm of tread left on them.
Front wheels are standard size, painted in satin black and orange and have brand new tyres, (covered around 60miles)
Engine
Engine is a standard 1300 twin port. Engine has been stripped and rebuilt using new bearings, piston rings and seals. Running standard 34pic carb.
Interior
New carpets and unlay, new full headling, seats covers and door cards custom made in black and orange.
New 3 point seat belts fitted to front with quick release chrome buckle.
Scat shifter fitted.
Brakes
Fronts have discs and pads, rears have standard drum brakes.
This vehicle was had a Built at home feature in Volksworld magazine July 2014.
The only reason for selling is I do not get time to drive the car (has only been driven a couple of times in the last year) and I dont have a permanant place I can store it. The car since I have owned it has always been garaged. It will be a shame to see the car go after spending so much time and money on it, but it is just not viable to keep anymore.
If there are any question you may have please either send me a pm on here or call me on 07887240972. ( if i dont answer please leave a message and i will call you back)
I will let the pitures do the talking.
I do have other pictures, let me know if you have any questions etc
Car is located in Salisbury, Wiltshire. I am asking £6,500 O.N.O which I think is a fair price for a very tidy bug
I am not looking for a swap or px.
I do have a VW birth certificate for the car
Regards
Matthew
