Me and kev have just purchased a new welder so bring Lisas down and we can have a go at the welding for you.
What am i doing well am absolutely flat out with work at the mo inbetween that got the beige bitch nose job and loads of little jobs on bug and wedge to do that i gotta find time for. Also theres a sweet 64 panel in the workshop i cant wait to be working on again. Oh hang on you know about that one haha!

Which welder did you buy . . . will try and get a pic at the weekend. The wheels btw are black and silver not chrome as I first thought still look good though.

Sealey supermig 150. Was gonba go for a sealey supermig 180 but they were £400 as opposed to under £250 for the 150. 150 amps should be more than enough for what we need.

Cool, the other problem you may have had is the plug amperage, I know some welders above 150 wont work on a 13 amp plug seems the trick is to stick 15 amp fuse wire in them . . .

Re: What You Up To
Have seen some 200 amp ones on a three pin plug but dont think the duty cycle would be very good on them! They would be fine turned down but whats the point in paying lots of money for a big expensive welder that we have to turn down!
Just had an email saying its been despatched cant wait to try it out!

Re: What You Up To
Liam I had to put the new reel I bought in, that small one is what was causing the feed problems it was getting caught on one side of the reel . . . I couldn't move the Corrado on my own too bloody heavy had to do it outside but no one complained . . . Managed to get a lot more of the welding done today not too pretty but its done only the battery tray to do now really.

Re: What You Up To
Popped round Keiths yesterday to have a look at the full lengh old skool rack he is fabricating for us, soon be ready for powder coating.
Stuck the steels back on, abit of a job pushing and pulling bus round the garage to get access.
Erna is starting to clean the inside and filling up with god knows what.
Thats it.

Re: What You Up To
Since returning from Vic farm Alex has put a new Alternator conversion kit in. He has also fitted a gearbox oil seal as it was leeking, new rocker covers and seals. Fitted all new innertubes to tyres as we had a puncture. So as you can see he has been a busy little beaver.
