July club meet

Is the club meet Friday 25th july?, as the 24th is a Thursday

I'm seriously thinking this could be the first meet I make!  Got my '71 Dormobile booked in for it's first MOT in 9 years next Thurs (17th July) so all being well, I'll be driving it that day!

Yes club meet IS 25th. Just updated the forum. Sadly I will be away at Devon Dubfest night. But cant wait to meet you and the van.

Yep, did see the BBQ thing but just got too much to do on the van before Thurs...and it's my daughters 7th birthday this weekend too. I'd never be forgiven if I wasn't there for that!

Whoops sorry put the wrong date, finally got rid of that virus and feeling better again luckily see you Sunday.

Didn't even make it to the MOT place last week. Got gearbox/shifter issues now. Totally fed up with it mechanically now so it's off to Voodoo VW in a week or so to be sorted


Really wanted to drive it over on Fri to the meet but that won't happen now

BUT you do have a super sweet looking dorma early bay and it looks gorgeous in the pics. Every one of us on here knows the frustrations you face.

My splitty hadn't been on the road for 10 years when I had it restored and once I finally got it in the road a whole year behind schedule, we have had 8 more years of joy and fun.

Stick in there. You will get there. And when you do it is going to be the most enormous fun for you & Beth.

If you still want to come over to Chalkhill blue on Friday for dinner and a chat with some of the guys you will certainly hear similar and get some support from fellow (sometimes frustrated) enthusiasts. Or even dig the tent out and come to lovely Deven Dubfest with 4 of our families.

It will all turn out right. Keep going

How many are going to the meet on Friday then or are most in Devon?

Think most will be over at Devon so it will either just be me on my tod, or their will be a handful of us I am guessing.

I will be at the club meet this friday night and will be eating.

I thought cameras never lied steve !!   Still another dormyhas to be a good thing. Just love the way they are laid out so you can get into most things even with the bed up. 

That said we are going to meet the original Devon interior designer and some of the builders this weekend at Devon Dubfest. And I love. Devon's too. Lots of Devon's even have the big airy dormy roof, so can't wait on that one. But hopefully we will see you at shows with us in no time.

It looks likely that only a handful of members and visitors will be there this time. Don't want you to be disappointed though with 3, 4 or 5 attendees, so if you want to leave your visit till next month that's cool with us.

Do watch the forum though. We are likely to move August club meet as There is VW Acrion and jersey trip so we are away at the end of the month and so I think I'm going to ask the others I'd we can move club night to Friday 15th august! or even have two.

Sounds like it will be a quiet one,

I will be coming up in the beetle as it needs  a run out. Got my new exhaust fitted now aswell  

We'll be able to bring the mini which is all fixed after the head gasket went.

So there will be half a dozen of you steve. But if you'd rather wait and SE us in august, hopefully with van sorted by then that's cool too. Please just let Daz know.

There is another group of 3 new visitors coming on Friday too.

I have copied you on an email confirming that 3 visitors are coming to join us for club night and will be wanting to eat with you all.

They are  Mick and Tan + 1.
Gaz from Swindon had also suggested coming down to club night either this time or August, but I haven't heard from him for a while so not sure which he is hoping go do.

I'm also hoping that. Mark will come down again as we all enjoyed meeting him and drooling over his lovely cross over bay. 

Mark, if you are reading can you please send me your email address as I'd naturally like to include you in our August & September vents update after the weekend.

It could be something as simple as the shifter plate at the bottom of the gear stick has slipped out of place, there is an optional short shift plate you can buy and fit which reduces the throw of the gear stick which helps greatly, could be a very easy cheap fix, hope you get it sorted, all been there many times and me more than most lol, if you go to club meet ask Steve as he's has just fitted the plate to his Bus and it worked a treat.

Off to Devon otherwise would help out


It will get sorted so stick with it as it will be so worth all the headaches etc

Cheers everyone that come over to the meet Friday was great to see so many considering Devon Dubfest was on ... next meet will be the 22nd August due to VW Action weekend being on the last Friday of the month.

A couple of the usual faces, Mick and Tan made showed up in their purple bay.

A good night as normal, Food was a bit slow, but company was good
