Advisory...Steering idler / relay

Its that time of year soon, had a Advisory last time saying......
Steering idler /relay. Steering pivot point has slight play.
Do i have to get a Steering Idler Pin Kit and replace old one on the Swing lever.
Is it a standard size for all years and how many spanners 1-5, dont forget its me doing it.

If you can get away with it pack all the steering components in grease then put it through again if it passes with an advisory again then you can get it done later.

Not a job I have had to do as of yet but from memory you need.
Fit new bushes
Ream them together
Fit the new idler pin

What condition are the rest of the components in are they sure its the idler pin.



This is www.vwheritage.com diagram the item number 10 is the steering idler kit.

Rest of components look O.K. There is abit of movement on the ends of the steering damper though, (can twist them abit) was going to replace that as well.
