Devon Dubfest 25th – 27th July 2014

2014 sees Devon Dub Fest coming to life for its 4th year and we can’t wait!
Devon Dub Fest is a family festival for VW lovers providing a weekend of fun for all ages (and dogs…they’re welcome too…on a lead).
Held in the stunning grounds of Bicton College in Devon empty fields are transformed just days before the event to welcome visitors from far and wide.
We’ve been blown away by the support and growth we’ve had each year and more importantly the difference this means we can make to CLIC Sargent our chosen charity since day 1.
Every penny of profit that is made from the event is donated to them. We literally don’t take a penny, our drive? Helping to make a change to the lives of those who are experiencing the unthinkable.

We are going. John Jersey has booked his ferry, so will be there too.

As Helen says we are planning to do this one. I have heard good things and it is going to be a small-ish, friendly show with some lovely vehicles. I'm a bit of a sucker for Devon interiors. Just wish I wasn't over 6ft for sleeping in the middle of one.

Also I always enjoy a run down to Devon or Cornwall. It just feels like holiday whenever you drive that way. Anyone up for a convoy down there? Get the big Coleman shelter up, gather round and have a laugh and a few beers?

Yep,I'm up for that one just looked at the web site do we need to book up for club camping or just turn up together? Prices seem reasonable and the location looks great and not too far to go.

The more I hear about this the better it sounds. John is going to find out a lit more about the best place for us to camp and join in with him and his mates.

If not we can gather together when we get there. Had you heard any more about us joining up with you up with him for camping?  We we booked as club campers as AK / Aircooled Konnection I Would imagine.

I've spoken with John tonight. We will know soon what his plans are and if he is making his own way from the ferry, we should try to meet at Countess Services, A303 Amesbury, to leave at 11am.Getting excited now !

Hi all, we've managed to sort our van back on the road and the problem was not as bad as I thought, and i'll explain more when i see you.  


The good news is we will be calling in just for the day on the Saturday en route to Cornwall and have booked our day tickets already and will see you there.

Just a few more jobs to do on the van and we should be good to go!

will be travelling down with you on the Friday and meet you at countess services but need to be up in Coventry on the Sunday with the van to clear out josh's student let so will probably leave you very early at silly O clock on the Sunday morning.

Ron and Owen, let's meet at Countess services at 10am to get smoothly down to Bicton and give Owen the longest possible break.

I think we can also divide camping gear as we usually do.

I will bring big  Coleman shelter and the BBQ
Ron can you bring flag, base, cooker and gas and your table
Owen can your bring a big table so we can sit round it

Think Helen is either getting or got ingredients for chicken curry one night and sausage and burgers for BBQ the other (frozen from BBQ last week so should work well as they were good) for us 4 and John.

He is already over and camping last night and tonight on South coast near Poole. John is going to find our spot and 'occupy it' and then I'll text him as we leave and then as we get close. thinks that's it. A few of the guys from new forest dub club are going too, so we can say hi to them over the weekend.

Ron, I'll get Helen to text you this am if there is any fresh stuff or curry ingredients we need. And don't forget I still have a couple of packs of your Peroni that I will chill with mine and bring along.

Thinks that's it. Really excited. love going to new shows. Just need to get today's work done and then can get van packed and into long weekend mode.

10am is fine with me and can make it if it suits all another hr doesn't make alot of difference to mevthough but i will be working up to the last minute and will be just chucking things into the van in the morning.

Also made much, much better by getting an open top ride and a little showground drive of your 56 (yes I know) van. Thank you v much.

I'd never knock you Ron, well not behind your back anyhow.   But you are right that ride with John and the little chance to drive his beauty back to the camping area were truly memorable things to do. A real treat 'for the likes of us' eh Ron. Thanks John and see you here in a couple of days.
