Quarter Light Latches
Hi newbie here, in need of a bit of expert advice, on how to change the latches on quarter light windows?? I have just bought a pair of new latches to replace the old broken ones on my 72 bug........ on inspection' it looks like there possibly riveted into place before the glass is fitted?? If this is the case? how hard is it to remove' and then replace the glass without breaking it!
Sorry for the lame question, but before I go at it' I just wondered if there's an easy method/trick ?????
Thanks in advance.

Re: Quarter Light Latches
yep they are usually riveted in before the glass is in. you will need to take the glass out and will probably need to replace the rubber seal it sits in . Done them on a split van before but not on a beetle one. The beetle ones are stronger and tougher to get the glass out soaking in plenty of silicone spray before may help to ease the glass out other than that can't suggest an easy way out
