When attaching fuel lines or oil lines onto brass fittings are you required to use a tape ( like plumbers white tape ) silicone or that, heard stories that some do and some dont, some say petrol would soften tape making it useless, and some dont bother at all with anything.

Should'nt need it if you have the correct hosing and clamps for the various fittings, cant imagine that ptf tape would stand up to the concoptions of unleaded petrol for very long.
