Little help??

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could offer a little help?

I have a 67 beetle that I'm having a nightmare getting running! I've had it a few years and haven't really had the time to work on it.

I think the problem was down to the fuel pump being shattered by the push rod, which I have now replaced!

I've recently moved to Andover from Salisbury and the cars in Chicester Close.

Can anyone with bit of know how spare me an hour or two??

Hi Kevan,

I'm local and live in Andover and can have a look for you may have had the wrong pump or push rod as there are two different types.Iit works off the distributor drive so could have damaged something else. hopefully its not that and something simple.

Nice to met up with you today Kevan Don't think it will take too much to get it on the road again and looks quite solid underneath. Getting the engine going again is the main thing and a confidence boost just need to sort out the tinware and get the timing sorted abit more, at least we can move the distributor now

was great to hear the engine run and put me in the right direction!

I've got and fitted new rocker covers, no more oil leaks!!

The sheet metal around the engine bay has gone and new front and rear tinwear aquired!

Fan housing has been removed and drilled and tapped and the fan secured, hoping to get it back in this weekend.

The front seats are a in need of replacing! Hopefully it won't collapse completly until I can get some replacments!

I'll have to make an effort and attend the next meeting (when ever it is!) and buy you a few drinks in thanks!
